As part of a transformative renovation for one of Miami Beach’s most iconic properties, the 1 Hotel / Roney Plaza South Pool Deck and Cabanas project reimagines 50,000 square feet of luxury hospitality space. The design brings a refined, coastal sensibility to a high-traffic amenity area, elevating both guest experience and environmental performance.
The scope includes the complete reconstruction of the pool shell, now featuring elegant infinity edges that merge seamlessly with the Atlantic horizon. Wood-clad cabanas line the perimeter, offering shaded retreat and privacy, while luxury sunbeds are arranged to frame ocean views. Materials were selected for both durability and tactile warmth, balancing the resort’s natural aesthetic with functional longevity.
Turtle-compliant lighting integrates seamlessly into the landscaping, supporting marine conservation efforts without compromising the ambiance. Acting as both Architect of Record and Owner’s Representative, our firm led the project from concept refinement through permitting and execution, ensuring that every detail aligned with the brand’s sustainability ethos and elevated guest experience. Completed in the Fall 2024, the deck now serves as a tranquil, contemporary oasis in the heart of Miami Beach.
