The Plaza, Coral Gables

The Plaza in Coral Gables presented an opportunity to transform a transitional circulation zone into a refined, experiential space. This 3,000-square-foot renovation reimagined the building’s exterior valet lobby, stairway, and elevator core—enhancing both functionality and first impressions for visitors and tenants alike.

The design elevates the stairs from a purely utilitarian element to a focal architectural feature, framed by vertical green walls that soften the urban environment and introduce a biophilic dimension. At the ground level, upgraded paving and finishes define the valet waiting area, complemented by custom-designed millwork at the valet stand and high-end outdoor lounge furniture that encourages brief moments of pause.

The elevator lobby is wrapped in finely detailed wood cladding, creating a warm and inviting threshold to the upper floors. The renovation blends clean lines with tactile richness, ensuring that each element—from stair treads to planter walls—supports the project’s intent: to turn overlooked circulation space into a memorable, dignified experience.

Completed in June 2023, the project was delivered with a construction value of $500K. As Architect of Record, the firm led design and coordination efforts, ensuring every material and gesture aligned with the refined character of The Plaza.
